Katana Parcel and Logistics provides pick-ups and deliveries, as needed, twenty four hours a day seven days a week.
Katana Parcel and Logistics requires that all drivers have excellent driving records, have successfully passed pre-employment strength and flexibility testing, have clean criminal backgrounds and pass a pre-employment drug screen testing. Random drug screenings are also performed.
All drivers are employee drivers and all wear uniforms with a clearly visible Katana Parcel patch on the shirts, as well as displaying picture ID badges. Good personal grooming is a requirement, as well as common courtesy. All drivers are fully trained for the position they are to perform.
History
Katana Parcel and Logistics is a Southern Oregon based small business servicing Oregon and Northern California. We specialize in same-day, time sensitive pick-up and deliveries. We currently employ over thirty drivers operating in excess of twenty vehicles. Our Vehicles range is size from passenger cars, small pick-up trucks, cargo vans, box tucks and straight trucks, thus allowing us the flexibility of handling all of our customer shipments in a timely manner. Katana Parcel has current contracts with several companies, requiring stringent delivery and handling requirements, including all appropriate documentation of shipments. Our clients include independent and multi-regional office and auto supply stores, banks and credit unions and manufactures, as well as regularly-scheduled or infrequent deliveries for individuals and small independent businesses in Eugene, Roseburg, Grants Pass, Medford, Brookings, Florence, North Bend, Klamath Falls, Ashland, Crescent City, Yreka, Mt. Shasta, Redding and points between.
Management
Katana Parcel and Logistics, managed by Carlton Smith brings over two decades of transportation experience to Katana Parcel. His experience in part has included the management and supervision of Oregon and Northern California areas for dominant nationwide courier corporation. While there, responsibilities included supervision of over fifty employees operating in excess of fifty vehicles, successfully making over 500 stops and covering over 10,000 miles and delivering over 2000 packages daily.
Facilities
Katana Parcel and Logistics has terminal and transfer facilities in six Southern Oregon communities: Medford, Grants Pass, Roseburg, Eugene, Klamath Falls and Coos Bay/North Bend. Our Medford Terminal is centrally located approximately Three miles south of down town Medford and the Medford Jackson County International Airport. Our Grants Pass terminal is located within 1/8 mile from Interstate 5 and is equipped with both ground and dock high (loading dock) access. All facilities allow for secure overnight storage and the ability to cross dock, sort and process for delivery of all products.
Customer Base
Katana Parcel and Logistics customer base includes pharmaceutical deliveries, office supply deliveries, business to business deliveries of all types, and all types of small package deliveries. Additionally we subcontract deliveries for many regional and national companies. Products include pharmaceuticals, medical lab specimens, medical records bank documents, optical supplies, heavy construction supplies and any other miscellaneous items.
